How can I show that the Chrysanthemum is a really trendy flower?
The secret of success is found mainly in the innovative use of Chrysanthemums; their power and colours make them ideal for experimentation. Once consumers have seen the possibilities, demand will grow proportionately. For inspiration take a look at these trend bouquets and arrangements, visit the 'with love project' and keep an eye out for aspirational lifestyle magazines.
How can I, as a florist, stand out against the supermarkets when it comes to sales of Chrysanthemums?
The best way to stand out is by not opting to use Chrysanthemum as a filler, but presenting it in different and innovative ways (solo in tiny vase, floating on a dish) and by using different and newer varieties of Chrysanthemums.
How can I find out what new varieties of Chrysanthemums are being developed?
To find out about the latest varieties of Chrysanthemum check out the sites of Chrysanthemum breeders, e.g.:

How can my customers get the most from their Chrysanthemums?
Advise them to unwrap the flowers as soon as they get home and to use a clean vase filled with luke warm water and perhaps a little cut flower food. They should then remove all leaves that will be under the water in the vase and slant cut the stems, removing 3 to 6 cm, so that the ends of the stems are not flat on the base of the vase. Chrysanthemums prefer a fairly cool spot and dislike direct sunlight and draughts. Any damaged or dying flowers or leaves should be removed immediately and another piece should be cut off the stems every 4 or 5 days to ensure good water absorption.
